Daily Challenge — 7 October 2026
Week 1 of Mission CGPSC 2027 · First Principles — Prelims Phase begins: the Constitution's origins and the state's own birth certificate — plus the numeracy every CSAT paper leans on. See the full plan.
Constitutional Development (1773–1950)
Ghanshyam Singh Gupta, a member of the Constituent Assembly from the Chhattisgarh region, is remembered for chairing the committee that:
A committee under Ghanshyam Singh Gupta of Durg was appointed in 1947 to prepare the Hindi translation of the Constitution, and an expert committee under him revised it. The Objectives Resolution was moved by Nehru, the excluded areas outside Assam were examined by A.V. Thakkar’s sub-committee, and the States Committee was chaired by Nehru.
Physical Geography: Location, Relief, Rivers and Climate
Among the local soils of the Chhattisgarh plain, which one is dark, clayey and has the highest moisture-retaining capacity, allowing rabi crops such as gram and wheat?
Going downslope the local soils run Bhata, Matasi, Dorsa and Kanhar. Kanhar lies in the lowlands and is deep, dark and clayey, so it holds moisture after the monsoon and supports rabi crops. Matasi is a yellow sandy loam and Bhata is gravelly and the least fertile.
Basic Numeracy
What is the simple interest on ₹8,000 at 6% per annum for 3 years?
\( SI = \frac{P \times R \times T}{100} = \frac{8000 \times 6 \times 3}{100} = 1440 \). ₹1,528.13 is the compound interest for the same data — a trap for those who compound by habit — and ₹480 is the interest for one year only.
