Week 2 of Mission CGPSC 2027 · Rights & Roots — Fundamental Rights and DPSP for India; prehistory and the early dynasties of Dakshin Kosala for Chhattisgarh. See the full plan.
Directive Principles and Fundamental Duties
Consider the following statements about the Directive Principles of State Policy:
- Article 39A (equal justice and free legal aid) was inserted by the 42nd Amendment Act, 1976.
- Article 38(2), on minimising inequalities in income, was inserted by the 42nd Amendment Act, 1976.
- Article 43B, on co-operative societies, was inserted by the 97th Amendment Act, 2011.
Which of the statements given above is/are correct?
The 42nd Amendment (1976) added 39(f), 39A, 43A and 48A. Article 38(2) was added later by the 44th Amendment (1978), so statement 2 is wrong. Article 43B came with the 97th Amendment (2011) and survived the Supreme Court’s 2021 ruling in Rajendra N. Shah, which struck down much of Part IXB.
Regional Dynasties: Rajarshitulya, Nala, Sharabhpuriya, Pandu and Somvanshi
Which emblem appears on the gold coins attributed to the Nala kings of the Bastar region?
Nala gold coins carry a bull-and-crescent emblem, which is how coins of kings such as Varaharaja are assigned to the dynasty. Gaja-Lakshmi is on the Sharabhpuriya seal, Garuda on Prasannamatra’s coins, and Nandi on Balarjuna’s Panduvanshi seal.
Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
Pointing to a woman, a man said, “She is the wife of the only son of my mother’s husband.” How is the woman related to the man?
My mother’s husband is my father. My father’s only son, spoken by a man, is the speaker himself. So the woman is the wife of the speaker — his wife. Option (b) assumes the speaker has a brother, which “only son” rules out.
